  • The main frustration I had with Baldur’s Gate 3 while being busy is that I would have sessions where a glitch would silently compound over a couple hours of gameplay, and when the glitch finally manifests, I had to reload a very old save to fix it.

In my case, >!Shadowheart killed Laezel in camp, but Laezel was somehow still alive and in camp. Later, this causes problems where the game will acknowledge she’s dead, and then she will show up in a Githyanki Creche conversation, and then disappear again. So, she is effectively not part of our story but then also is a secret party member. !<

  • The first thing I thought was “that’s neat,” and the second thing that came to mind was “that pizza never existed until it was taken from the future.”

I mean, yeah, the comic could continue, and the characters could ignore it, but… does this imply that the characters can will anything into existence so long as it eventually disappears? Could they “borrow” a car from 10 years in the future so long as it’s taken by their past selves in 10 years?

  • This is my experience using it for electrical engineering and programming. It will give me 80% of the answer, and the remainder 20% is hidden errors. Turns out the best way to learn math from GPT is to ask it a question you know the answer (but not the process) to. Then, reverse engineer the process and determine what mistakes were made and why they impact the result.

Alternatively, just refer to existing materials in the textbook and online. Then you learn it right the first time.

  • GUI is a generic swiss army knife. It’s easy to introduce to someone, and it has a whole array of tools ready for use. However, each of those tools is only half-decent at its job at best, and all of the tools are unwieldy. The manual is included, but it mostly tells you how to do things that are pretty obvious.

CLI is a toolbox full of quality tools and gadgets. Most people who open the box for the first time don’t even know which tools they’re looking for. In addition, each tool has a set of instructions that must be followed to a T. Those who know how to use the tools can get things done super quickly, but those who don’t know will inevitably cause some problems. Oh, but the high-detail manuals for all the tools are in the side compartment of the toolbox too.
