The newest pour from Starbucks is a 3D printed store that’s set to open this week in Texas. The giant coffee chain with over 17,000 locations across the U.S. says the new drive-thru opening Friday in Brownsville will be its first in the U.S. using the technology.
Off topic, but I have been to the Chinese spot right next to it and it is quite nice. For coffee there is a local coffee house just up the road that is way better.
They didn’t say in the article just how long it took to build. If you are in the area, did you notice about how long it took to actually put the thing together and get it open?
I think it took maybe 5mo? There was an old building there that took some time to demolish, so I am not sure. I have not seen traffic going into that SB.
Well, that’s unfortunate because they had the old building to get rid of. It would be cool to find out just how quickly it was able to be printed and everything so that we could figure out whether it would be shorter to print buildings that way. I would think it should be, but there’s an awfully large difference between should and reality.
