YYYY-MM-DD is the only acceptable date format, as commanded by ISO 8601.

Largest to smallest unit of time. It just makes sense.
Sorting by date would be so much better with yyyymmdd .
YYYY-MM-DD:HH:MM:SS
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS.SSSSSSSSSZ

MM/YYYY/DDis clearly better.
