We disagreed for years about the color of our couch. I called it brown. He called it blue. It was a weird grayish brown colored couch, but because it was labeled “slate” when he bought it, he insisted it was blue. We then added a teal blue couch to our house which just solidified my “this is the brown couch” position. We do not, to this day, agree. Eventually we got rid of the couch.
Because normally eggs are very cheap, very easy, and very healthy. When you’re broke and living off pasta, beans, and rice, eggs are something you make that you feel good about feeding yourself and your family. Anybody can make good scrambled eggs, and those two eggs in the morning can get you through until you get back home after work.
I can’t explain everyone’s obsession, but mine is easy to explain: I want to feed my baby two eggs most days of the week. They’re clean, she enjoys them plain, they’re easy for her to chew, they’re very quick, and there’s no question on whether they cooked long enough. I hate the taste of eggs but I ate them non-stop through my pregnancy and now as I breast feed. You can’t beat them for efficiency. Some days those two eggs are all I eat until dinner time.
They’re also crazy versatile! Scrambled, eggs-in-a-basket, hard boiled, French toast, over easy, runny on toast with a tomato slice, egg salad.
I’ve always had insomnia but the child in my life really screws up my ability to get sleep
Yearly childcare is a years worth of income in plenty of places, so there’s that too.
I once asked my male partner to wipe down the bathroom counter because my grandparents were coming over. He did a bad job. I got upset about it. He said my expectations were too high. He had left a dead bug on the counter.
We absolutely do not have too high of expectations.
I mean… with all the negativity in this thread, every single person here is consenting to be alive every single day. While there are a number who choose an early exit, the vast vast statistical majority overwhelmingly consent to live another day every day. With such stats I feel like it’s fine to assume the default status is consent in this context.
Plus, speaking of morals, we’re just dumb little apes. You give us too much credit if you think we can fight the greatest biological urge of all life over something we’ve completely invented in our minds : morals, and the morals of the unborn is like double hypothetical.
Yes! I can see yours as well shares that weird tone. I understand why there’s an argument, while still fully believing the couch is obviously brown.
