Besides the obvious tipoff, is there some sort of fraudulent or tax reason why they would make the employee pay for it?

Windows: “OK, I’ll keep asking though just in case you change your mind.”
Windows: “There is something wrong with that weird drive I’ve just found. Do you want me format it to ‘fix’ it?”
Me: “Alright Windows, your permission to exist on my computer has been revoked.”
Narrator: “Turned out Windows never needed Edge to work”
Even cheaply you can still easily find something to make buttons that are of a consistent size and shape. And not put one of them on top of the edge panel of the console like one of them is on the picture. This is a typical telltale sign of AI: things that aren’t uniform when they should be and are located in nonsensical places.
There is also asymmetry and sewing lines that make no sense between the left and right gloves and what looks like is supposed to be a pair of pens on his upper right arm is just two nonsensical blobs of crome texture.
No one seems to know about what movie or show this is supposed to be from either…
Look at the red buttons by the guy’s right hand. They look like a bunch of skittles of different sizes. It is definitely AI

That’s how much is costs once the tariffs on the semiconductors that you simply cannot produce in the country for at least 10 more years even if you tried has been covered, the salaries high enough to motivate people to willingly work the assembly lines now that immigrant workers are gone, and the markup needed to cover the cost of completely creating an entire supply chain from scratch as well as paying back the insane debt that results from the outrageous high risk investments this would require and that frankly no investor would want to touch with a 10 foot pole.

But the US is not a healthy democracy.
On a serious note, if you find a gun and you don’t know how to handle it safely, don’t even pick it up.

Yup, that checks out. That’s what we get instead of hoverboards.
Back when I was still on Reddit, I made a comment on a chess sub saying that in chess you are not allowed to make your king “commit suicide” to explain how a stalemate works. One day later I got a message about suicide prevention because someone flagged me for promoting suicide.
What a dumb site.
Costco and Loblaws in my area. Costco is even more annoying because it yells instructions on how to use the machine at you at every step. Every time. The moment you approach the machine it yells at you to scan your membership card. Then it yells at you to scan your items. Then it yells at you to put it in the bag area. Then it yells at you to use the PIN pad. Then it yells at you to thank you for shopping at Costco.
I’m wondering how many people got kicked out of the store already for snapping and yelling back at the machine to STFU.
“Wait a minute. Are we the baddies?”
