Not necessarily about stack overflow. But i just got myself in a situation where the first search result I found for a problem was clearly AI generated. And the solution it provided was not at all technically possible. The AI decline is really terrible…

That said, does anyone know of an extension or block list for those terrible AI slob websites? Or a way to filter it from duckduckgo?

Jellyfin has a sign in through the app for tv. Which I tell them to use first. And URL is also nothing new. All this stuff are 30+ year old concepts by now. But to each his own!

I’m starting to think it acts as a nice filter. If they can’t grasp an URL + login, it would save me from tech support down the line.

Let’s not act like a user and password is some revolutionary new technical concept. They can remember it for their email provider if they can access the plex link. So why jot jellyfin? I think the UX of Jellyfin is more than acceptable in this regard. Sure I wouldn’t mind they added this feature but i don’t see it as a must have.

Proton is so good that often games run better with Proton than native too. Usually because the developer puts little effort in the linux native version. Proton is such a godsend.

Never found remmina to be laggy but never tried with 3 monitors. Still sounds better than what I had to do when i had to work from home a few years ago. I had to run a windows vm, to log in to citrix at work (didn’t work directly in Linux for me then) to then remote desktop into servers and work in emacs there. It was virtualization hell. It worked but oh boy was everything laggy… Should have gone one deeper and ran my linux on a hypervisor for a true beauty of a setup.

The ease of reinstalling is not the main selling point. That’s just one of the (imho many) benefits of having a declarative reproducible configuration.

Many people balk at the nix language, which i think isn’t that hard to learn, But having jto learn ust one language/syntax instead of knowing each different application’s config syntax is a huge plus for me. Plus you basically get a preprocessor for all configs, which certainly is nice.

Now if you’re not a software developer i can see why that would still be a roadblock. But honestly for a pretty straight forward setup, most of it you can just find on the wiki or other places.
