  • I’ve blocked communities and instances that don’t speak English, ones that have absurd ideological basis (anarchy supporters), and occasionally people who just say really dumb things, a lot.

I vastly prefer encouraging blocking over censorship/moderation. If someone is being an asshole, having the ability to say it, vent those feelings for a moment, then readjust is a catharsis that’s been nearly outlawed especially on platforms on like TikTok.

Obviously not everything should be permitted and everything has its limits, but the internet seems to over correct things into a passionless husk of forced friendliness. To shove people into forming a facade that feels like a shrinking cage. Sterile.

Curating my own experience has been invaluable and I highly encourage it.

  • The two current candidates are so far apart the people who claim to be undecided are ignorant or stupid, willingly or otherwise. I’d understand riding the fence between Biden and Bernie, even if I’ve made my choice between them, but between Trump and Biden?

That’s the kind of person who is undecided if they want to drive to work or walk down the middle of i-95

3rd wave kinda… did that on their own. Barely a few years ago there were ‘feminists’ shutting down MRA sessions by pulling fire alarms where it was literally a bunch of dudes talking about their problems. It’s still relatively recent memory that people who called themselves feminists were some of the most unhinged human beings we had to deal with.

Yes, you can argue “those weren’t actually feminists” or “they were extreme and don’t represent everyone” but a lot of people still have those feminists in mind when the term comes up. It’s not “men who hate women” who created this perception, it is the women who hate men.
