If you like football and your best friend doesn’t like football, what do you do? You beg your best friend to play football… but if they really don’t like football or it is just a “once in a while thing” what you do? Probably find another friend or group of friends that like football. Your best friend likely stays your best friend but now you are happy, your best friend is not annoyed by you asking playing football and you have new friends
Of course you don’t hide or lie to your best friend on what you do and when… otherwise they would be (rightfully) upset but if you share and they are mad that you want to have new friends it’s on them to be unreasonable.
Well here Ethical non monogamy in a nutshell in a context where it is socially acceptable 🤷♂️
Do you realise that kids before puberty don’t have much difference from biological point of view. Sexual organs are not developed or fully developed and no hormones to speak of.
The story of Lego you said… cool you can control parents behaviour… what about peer pressure? Or the idea was to control the parents of a whole town (including Cartoons and TV shows)?
Yeah as I said… emotional education should not be only for boys.
Sorry mate (or congratulation… depending from the context 🙂)
Boys are taught to ignore emotions (“are you crying? Man up!”)
But emotions is what connects humans (and animals for that matter) and can’t really be ignored anyway
Join the two… and you get loneliness, frustration, rage.
We should start a conversation on emotional education (not only for boys but especially for boys)
That, I guess, it’s the whole point. Stopping being tracked 🙂
The chat space is problematic.
This contributes to a fragmentation that makes WhatsApp the app that-you-must-have
Sure it is supposedly encrypted but I would not bet my money that is without back doors
Except that countries like Canada has laws that makes it possible to happen
I would be curious to read a reference to that… not that any country cares just they history on how they agreed on something like that
I hate that nowadays AI == LLM/chatbot.
I love the AI classifiers that keep me safe from spam or that help me categorise pictures. I love the AI based translators that allow me to write in virtually any language almost like a real speaker.
What I hate is these super advanced stocastic parrots that manage to pass the Turing test and, so, people assume they think.
I am pretty sure that they asked specifically about LLM/chatbots the percentage of people not caring would be even higher
Written in Switzerland from my 25GBps symmetric connection (for like 60$/month) that I have for a couple of years 🤷♂️
Also for personal use the difference between 1Gbps and 25 (or, I guess, 100GBps) is essentially zero… your everyday connection is via WiFi (good luck to get more than 1GBps there) or on a home server/NAS/workstation where likely you run batch jobs where the difference between 1 minute or 5 minutes is not a huge deal (and yes I am not saying 1 vs 25 because at that speed generally the bottleneck is the place where you are getting data from)
All DEI fault for this failure
/s (if it wasn’t obvious 🙂)
No… and what is your point?
There is a reason states don’t have military 😉
I really don’t think their goal is consumers.
Sure they want consumers to use generative AI so that they get quality feedback so they can improve the product. But that is not the goal.
The goal is enterprises, the goal is replacing workers with AI.
There are estimations that around 300B$ have spent so far for generative AI. This is not for a gadget that close to no-one likes and burns money rather than make money
This is for removing humans from the productive cycle. It is such an ambitious goal that the various CEOs/shareholders are ok taking such an high risk gamble.
Trump will ditch any red tape to AI because Trump openly wants this world, a world where there isn’t any more the need for immigrants or workers or unions.
My ingenuity suggests me that this plan will fail on technical grounds but if it will not, it will be worse. There will be poverty and civil unrest, there will be instability and wars (it’s always easier to look for the enemy outside rather than inside) and, in the end, economy will not do great either (who will buy the crap people will produce?)
Again, I think that this plan will fail on technological grounds but removing red tapes will not accelerate this failure
If you lived in the medieval, would you have rooted for the apocalypse?
Dude, have you read the article? this is from an article on Nature.
Nature! Not the flat earth society scientific newsletter.
For publishing on Nature it is necessary that a number of the most well reputed experts in the field have peer reviewed the article.
By modern standard of “science”, publishing on Nature or Science is the closest to get to “consensus”.
I see your point in some newspapers articles but this is not one of that cases
Likely android 7 would not honor (or even be aware) of this new metadata bit. You’ll be fine 🙂
You are technically (and possibly legally) correct… But the spirit of the law is allowing customers to install what they want on their devices.
This move defuses the responsibility to the developers but EU showed in the past that what they care is the spirit of the law and not the law itself…and they are happy to change the laws to make them more adherent to the spirit
As much I care about privacy and free market, I still consider war or genocide to be worse. Call me crazy 🤷♂️
