Snapcast allows me to use the “chromecast” button inside the spotify app?

Won’t work with multiroom unfortunately.
I actually looked into Wiim and it’s really great, but you need to open the music in their app in order to do mutiroom. You can’t just “cast” from Spotify or whatever.

Jediwan@lemy.lolOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•DuckDNS URL no longer working on home network?English0·2 months agoThanks, but I don’t think that’s it. I rebooted and also tried adding a new container to NGINX with a DuckDNS url and it won’t load on the local network.

Jediwan@lemy.lolOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•DuckDNS URL no longer working on home network?English0·2 months agoHm, pinging works and shows my (external) IP. But no device I’ve tested can load the duckdns URL.
EDIT: Two of the URLS show the local IP replying when pinged. Not configured any differently so I’m not sure what’s going on there. This was a PiHole thing apparently
Jediwan@lemy.lolOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•DuckDNS URL no longer working on home network?English0·2 months agoYes and DuckDNS is working flawlessly everywhere except that the network the server is also connected to.
Jediwan@lemy.lolOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•DuckDNS URL no longer working on home network?English0·2 months agoArris G36 but I don’t believe that’s the issue as it was working for years before now and on a different router too.
Jediwan@lemy.lolOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•DuckDNS URL no longer working on home network?English0·2 months agoThanks for the response but restarting the modem/router didn’t change anything, nor did creating a new container/NGINX config.
My exact experience too. Fedora “just works”. I especially like the immutable varieties for even more “just works (and continues to just works)-iness”
lmao are you trying to talk me out of working to help you?

There is so much you can do about it, here’s a simple suggestion: promote open censorship-resistant communication systems like Lemmy.
When I meet someone who doesn’t care, I work twice as hard to fix things.
I wanted to but everyone on Lemmy told me I was an idiot for wanting a feature Mac and Windows have had for a decade (decrypt on login) .
But seriously it’s just not there on Linux yet. Either you encrypt and have two passwords, or give up convenience features like biometrics. Anything sensitive lives somewhere else.
Thanks for this, so any 802.11r router would work?
oof on the expensive side but might have to do it. Were you able to install open wrt on it?
It was still a good suggestion thanks. Something with openwrt is preferred but anything that’s not google is an improvement.
Music assistant is indeed cool and can do multi-room, but you have to go to it specifically first.
