Countless similiar situations like this is the reason why I find it difficult to help people/groups that display zero-zum behaviour because even if you help them there’s no telling if they’ll attack you in return
I’d rather spend my time helping people/organizations that are already trustworthy or have proven to be reciprocal towards others regardless of status or wealth

Losing Naomi Wu to the CCP was a catastrophic loss to the FOSS community, I remember that she once went directly to confront a company (I think located in China) to demand for the release of their modified version of a copyleft software

pretty much yeah as the performance gains are significant enough to impact a user’s buying decision.
To not update previous benchmarks is to do buyers a disservice as they would no longer be able to make their best informed buying decisions, the only ones who would benefit from a situation would be the corporations for no reason
