I hope I’m not the only one in here who nuked my Reddit account voluntarily after they started ramping up censorship.

Basically, I saw what was coming and bailed off that site while I was still ahead.

Uh oh, did you suggest something that isn’t aligned with corporate status quo enforcement?

I still haven’t been told I’ve been officially banned, they just give me server errors all the time (only on my main account, not when going on any other account/incogni)

Needs more context. Calling someone woke because you know it will piss them off I think is fair usage.

Anyone who gets that upset about being called woke probably isn’t that great either.

Dang, I called one an autistic dork and only got 3 days. Nothing against autistic people. I’m something of an autistic myself. I just knew it would trigger him. Then I mocked him in the unban request too for being a “thin-skinned bitch.”

I’ve also said “I fully endorse Luigi and his slaughter of CEOs.”

Why is it so hard for me to get my permaban?

You sound like a conservative that doesn’t know what your talking about, if it’s based on sarcasm, but if it’s based on bigotry, you had no place in reddit as surely in other forums. Nobody likes a obnoxious loudmouth

Agreed. It was mostly based on frustration on how the littlest comment now on Reddit gets you banned. My mistake for getting hot headed and calling him a name.

I canceled my reddit pro, or reddit+ account, whatever the f*ck it is called, and the ads, the ads… Ads that look like posts, or comments. It’s almost making me 100% Lemmy too.

Reddit simply doesn’t want an active user base. They want passive viewers ingesting AI generated content. Much better for advertising revenue that way.

they have been culling via shadowbanning for a month now

Way more than months. This goes at least as far back as the 2016 kerfuffle over The_Donald, ChapoTrapHouse, and other increasingly popular outside-the-mainstream communities.

Honestly easier to trace it back to 2012, when Reddit was gaining popular steam and doing lots of high profile AMAs. Shadowbanning was a great way to quash the mix of spam accounts and hecklers without letting the people running the accounts know they needed to roll up new ones.

but it drastically increased last month, even compared to feb with all the site wide bans, shadowbans are more silent, so people dont notice it right away, reddit does this intentionally because they like being sneaky and tip people off.

and yes starting 2017 on, thats where i recieved my 1st ban ever on a sub, before that there was no problems talking about politics without getting censured. but i noticed they are going to lowest hanging fruit, rather than the high profile spammers, because they usually know the instant they get shadowbanned anyways.

Told another user to take Trump’s advice and drink bleach. He’s allowed to say it but apparently not me.

Whatever. Reddit has always been a barely redeemable corpo platform. I’m hoping Digg comes back ActivityPub compliant like Threads and puts the final nail in that shithole’s corpse box.
